Forest Bathing FAQ
What is forest bathing?
1
Forest bathing, also known as Shinrin-Yoku, is the practice of intentionally slowing down and reconnecting with yourself through nature. Unlike hiking or exercise-focused outdoor activities, forest bathing is about being fully present in the natural world through mindful walking, reflection, grounding exercises, breathing, and sensory awareness.
At Dragonfly Awakening, forest bathing sessions are designed to help women calm the nervous system, reduce overwhelm, reconnect with themselves, and create space to breathe, reflect, and reset.
What happens during a forest bathing session?
2
Each forest bathing session is guided gently and intentionally. Sessions may include mindful walking, breathing exercises, grounding practices, journaling prompts, quiet reflection, supportive conversation, and sensory awareness activities designed to help you slow down and reconnect with yourself.
There is no pressure to perform, share, or “do” anything perfectly. The experience is about presence, stillness, and allowing yourself space away from the constant demands of everyday life.
Do I need hiking experience for forest bathing?
3
No hiking experience is necessary. Forest bathing is not a workout or intense hike. Sessions are designed to be slow, gentle, and accessible for most people.
The focus is not on distance or physical fitness, but on mindfulness, reflection, nervous system support, and connection with nature.
Is forest bathing therapy?
4
Forest bathing is not therapy or medical treatment. It is a guided wellness experience that supports emotional well-being, mindfulness, stress reduction, and nervous system regulation through intentional time in nature.
Many people find forest bathing deeply calming and restorative, especially during seasons of stress, burnout, transition, grief, or emotional overwhelm.
Who are forest bathing sessions for?
5
Forest bathing sessions are for women who feel overwhelmed, emotionally exhausted, disconnected, stressed, burned out, or simply in need of space to slow down and reconnect with themselves.
These experiences are especially supportive for women navigating:
life transitions
burnout
stress and overwhelm
emotional exhaustion
grief or loss
personal growth journeys
healing seasons
caregiving fatigue
nervous system overload
No experience with mindfulness or wellness practices is necessary.
